Welsh Government needs to step up a gear to tackle unemployment

Commenting on the news that unemployment has risen in Wales, Eluned Parrott, Welsh Liberal Democrat Shadow Business Minister said:

“We need to understand why Wales is failing when other places are succeeding. We’ve now got 2,000 extra people out of work across Wales and our unemployment rate is well above many English regions. The Welsh Government needs to step up a gear in its bid to get Wales moving.

“This week we learnt of the fantastic news of the electrification of all the rail routes in South Wales which sends a sign to the world that Wales is worth investing in. The Welsh Government needs to use this good news to attract more businesses into Wales and come up with a plan of action to help Welsh businesses get valuable contracts during the construction phase and beyond.”
